Pre-enrolment Steps

Step 1

Locate Macquarie Student ID

Step 2

Login to eStudent

  • On the eStudent web-site enter your Macquarie Student ID.  To find your password select " Click here for Login assistance".   After you login you will be required to change your password. If you have accessed eStudent previously, enter your Student ID and current password.

    If you experience login difficulties, email IT Help at ithelp@mq.edu.au or go to their web-site.

Step 3

Accept Your Offer and Complete Online Pre-enrolment

  • International students cannot accept an offer in eStudent. Please follow the instructions from Macquarie International

  • For local students: after logging into eStudent you must check and complete Items A - F in the My Offer menu which appears on the left side of the screen.

    A - ACCEPT My Offer

    Accept the offer to your course.

    B - Submit Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF)

    Check your offer to find out if you have been offered a Commonwealth supported place or Domestic tuition fee place.  All students who are offered a Commonwealth supported place must complete an eCAF(HECS-HELP) before enrolment. Domestic tuition fee-paying students who are eligible for, and wish to take up FEE-HELP assistance need to complete an eCAF (FEE-HELP) before the census date.     C, D and E - Confirm and Update your Details

    Check your citizenship and residency, and cultural details. You cannot update these details in eStudent as you must provide certified documentation to confirm changes to this information. For further instructions select Need Help? menu and 'Contact eStudent Support'. Update your disability and health details, which you can change without providing further documentation.

    F - Academic Orientation

    It is recommended that you register for the Postgraduate Skills Workshop.
Step 4

View Academic Advising Information

  • Academic Advising is provided by departments to assist you in planning your enrolment. For some programs, academic advice is compulsory. Academic Advising information is available here.

Step 5

Consult the Handbook of Postgraduate Studies and the University Timetable

Handbook:  You will find information such as program structures and requirements, unit offerings and prerequisites in the Handbook.

The Handbook can be accessed online, and in eStudent by selecting My Enrolment / Check Course Details. Click the 'Link to additional information'.

The Handbook is also available and for purchase from the Cashiers Office (located on-campus in the Lincoln Building, Level 1). Further information can be found here.

Timetable: The class timetable is located at the University timetable website.  Refer to ‘Need Further Timetable Information’ (at the bottom of the timetables page) for postgraduate units that do not have classes centrally timetabled.

Step 6

Pay any Current Debts

  • If you have previously enrolled at Macquarie and have an outstanding debt you must complete payment before you will be able to enrol via eStudent. Refer to the Student Finances web-site or contact Revenue Services at student_fees@mq.edu.au or phone (+61 2) 9850 7233.

* Students commencing a Master by coursework Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate (excluding MGSM, Applied Finance Centre and Master / PG Diploma Accounting students, Higher Degree Research students)
