Unit Enrolment - all current Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
Enrolling in Units: If you enrol in a unit where there is no choice of class time, then you will be automatically registered in that class.
Make sure that you check your enrolment by following the link Check Unit Enrolment and Print Timetable in your eStudent menu. This contains a list of the units in which you have fully enrolled.
Special Approval (Waiver): If you want to apply for a Special Approval (Waiver), you must submit a form. Refer to the Waiver FAQs
Changes to your Unit Enrolment: Refer to the Change of Unit Enrolment web page for all deadlines regarding adding and withdrawing units, and the academic and financial penalties that may apply.
Grade Point Average(GPA): Your GPA is printed on your Enrolment and Registration Advice (ERA). To view your ERA select My Enrolment / Check Unit Enrolment & Print Timetable from the eStudent menu. You must be enrolled in at least one 2008 unit to view your ERA.
Unit Enrolment - undergraduate students only
Transferring Courses: If you apply to internally transfer your course you will receive enrolment instructions in the letter sent to you regarding your transfer. All transfer enquiries should be directed to coursework@mq.edu.au.
Can’t find the units you want or don’t have enough credit points appearing on the web? If you have used up all your credit points on the ‘Planned Units’ web page and need more to complete your degree requirements, select Need Help? / Contact eStudent Support in the eStudent menu for assistance. You will need to be specific in your request about what unit(s) you need added and why they need to be added to your study plan. Please give eStudent Support at least two working days to reply.
Third Time Enrolment: If you wish to enrol in a unit for a third time and if the unit is not offered by the Division of Information and Communication Sciences, you will need to request permission to do so via the Special Approval (Waiver) form. Further instructions are also available for units offered by the Department of Accounting and Finance.
More than 14 credit points: If you wish to enrol in more than 14 credit points in one semester, you must obtain academic approval. Refer to the Enrolment FAQs for the form and further information.
Exemptions: If you need to have an exemption assessed, you will need to complete the Variation to Exemption form.
HSC Equivalence: If you need to have some prior study assessed for its HSC equivalence (e.g. Mathematics), you will need to contact the relevant Department. The form is available form the Student Enquiry Service.
Class Registration
Distance (external) units do not have classes.
Where there is no choice of class times: If you have enrolled in a unit where there is no choice of class time (e.g. ARTS100 only has one lecture = no choice of time) then you will be automatically registered in that class.
Where there is a choice of class times: After you enrol in your unit you will be able to select your classes in eStudent using the menu Choose My Classes. If your first class choice is not available, choose an alternative.
If you have any questions about enrolling in units or registering in classes, please select Need Help? / Contact eStudent Support in the eStudent menu. However, please note that eStudent Support will not be able to give you academic advice, only enrolment assistance. You will need to contact the relevant department for academic advice.
